Heat-resistant glass for domestic use was produced in Jena for the first time in around 1920.

By developing the borosilicate glass, Otto Schott created a universal material which, after laboratories and the industry, quickly conquered households as well.

In 2005 production was abandoned at the company Schott Jenaer Glas GmbH.

However, the design, the moulds and the equipment was taken over, so customers today can find this heat-resistant glass, including the original Jenaer glass shapes, in the trendglas JENA line.

The trendglas JENA GmbH belongs to the Csonkagroup, based in Sopron, Hungary, one of the biggest and most efficient manufacturers of heat-resistant glass in Europe.

Csonkaglas was a co-producer of Jenaer Glaswerk for more than 12 years. Completion of Trendglas products also takes place here.

It is exported to 52 countries under the brand names “trendglas” and „trendglas JENA“ and, only in Germany, these products are offered by more than 700 specialist retailer.

Since 2006 we have been present at Ambiente, the biggest consumer-goods fair in Frankfurt with increasing success and an increasingly wide range of new products.

In 2009 we came up with and presented the line SOLO/GLOBE. These stylish designer teapots were immediately highly popularly with consumers earning the SOLO line the title ‘Teapot of the Year’ at TeeGschwendner and the title ‘Hand-made Hungarian Masterpiece’ in 2010.

Our teapots SIGN 0.6/1.2 l have won in 2013 the iF product design award. These award counts to the most prestigions prizes in the world of innovative design.

At the end of 2019 Csonkagroup has put into operation one of the most modern LASER GLASS PROCESSING CENTER in the world. This new technology is used primarily to produce the houshold glassware of trendglas JENA, making trendglas currently the exclusive supplier of such items in the market across the world.
